Your Summer Travel Guide to Beach Cities

Girl’s trips are great for the soul, and we know just the place- from the boardwalk to the beach or the spa. Are you ready for a summer getaway? Well, you came to the right place, pack your bags, purchase your ticket, and off we go!
Half Moon Bay is the picturesque place to be for a weekend. Picture this, by day, exploring a tiny, perfect town on the coast just outside of San Francisco, and by night sitting by the beach, listening to foghorns, closing your eyes, and listening to the waves. Maybe it’s the fact that I’m a California girl at heart or the amount of time I’ve spent here growing up, but I can’t recommend this special place enough. Half Moon Bay is the perfect weekend getaway; you probably won’t need more than a couple of days in this cozy town. However, while you are visiting, here is my recommended itinerary!
I recommend eating, exploring, and shopping your way through this quaint little surfer town. We could eat our way through any trip, and a girl’s trip calls for a brunch with a view, and let me tell you, if you and your besties are seafood fans, look no further. Any restaurant around town offers the best and most fresh crabcakes or clam chowder, and we’re drooling just thinking about it. Yum! After lunch, it’s time to explore Half Moon Bay which is THE place for your outdoorsy and adventurous crew. This coastal town offers plenty of flowering mustard fields to capture that priceless floral photo op in your bright, reversible, and colorful ByLil Bikinis. Maybe, you’d rather see someone else take on an adventure of a 15-30 foot wave, gnarly! If you’re feeling rad, hit the town and head for Pillars Point Harbor to catch the Maverick surfers in action!
Of course, no girl’s trip would be complete without drum rollllll….shopping! Make sure you leave extra room in your suitcase because you’re coming home with some goodies. Both Main Street and Pillars Point are THE places to shop in Half Moon Bay. This town has it all, whether you’re looking for gourmet cheeses (a girl after our own hearts!) or sustainable, local, and beautiful jewelry.
Okay, we’re totally jealous of anyone in Florida actually enjoying the warm weather, isn’t it supposed to be springtime? For those craving warmer weather, Cocoa Beach, FL is the place to be. Soothe your soul on beautiful beaches, befriend sea turtles, and don’t miss the stunning sunsets! There’s fun for everyone on the Cocoa beaches, whether it’s surfing, swimming, or playing a game of beach volleyball. Cocoa Beach isn’t just known for the sun and sand, so once you’ve soaked in all the rays, grab those thinking caps and head over to the Kennedy Space Center. It was there that the first Americans to orbit the Earth and land on the Moon shot into space! Maybe space isn’t your thing, no problem, Cocoa Beach’s Village was the first settled in the mid 19th century and offers plenty of shopping and entertainment. I feel a brunch coming on! There are plenty of spots for an iconic, beachside Floridian meal, with a little something for everyone.
A trip to Florida is never complete without exploring the outdoors and all the wildlife Cocoa Beach has to offer. Go full mermaid, swim with the dolphins and manatees, and take a fishing trip or an airboat ride. If you’re looking for a slower-paced activity, a simple stroll down the beach and pier is super relaxing and fun. Decided you’re never leaving vacation? Same girl, same. Consider extending your trip and hop on a cruise to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral.
